Title: MILLIONAIRE CVX PROBLEM
Post by: LTM on April 07, 2012, 06:55:13 PM
Guys & Gals,

My Millionaire CVX often makes a racheting/clicking noise when in free spool; any ideas as what this may be?

not familiar with that reel but could it be anti reverse dogs making a slight clicking sound.

G'day Leo, a couple more options to check: the clicker may be touching the click gear very slightly or the pinion may not be fully disengaging from the spool.
Let us know how you get on.
Good luck, Justin

Thanx guys,

No clicker on the reel. I feel more inclined towards the pinion gear or the anti-reverse roller bearing. I'll update when I find out, and thanx again for your quick responses.

The clutch bar would not fully disengage, must be from my "full service" so I whiped all excess grease (minus a very thin film) from the clutch bar linkage and surfaces.  Works at home, now to test in the ocean.

Thanx guys for your inputs.
