Title: Makaira 15T handle removal
Post by: deepwater gom on August 06, 2025, 10:41:20 AM
How to I remove the handle off of the shaft it is mounted on?  There was no screw inside the handle that I can see and no screw shown on the okuma drawing.

Thanks

You're talking about the knob, right? Not the handle where it is attached to the gear-shaft?

That is correct sir. Just the plastic t bar itself.  Leaving the shaft it mounts to and the arm still attached to the reel.

the screw you are looking for is in the other side of the handle blade, in the inner side, If I recall correctly the knob shaft doesnt move when you unscrew the handle knob.

I actually already changed the stock handle which it was pretty good and comfy but I wanted to try the penn Handle knob on the "new" international reels

Ok great and thanks!  Where did you get the new penn handle?  I would like to try one of those myself.
