Sorry if in wrong section. I have been looking at two different rc bait boats for delivering shark bait from shore. First is the Aquacat and then the Fishing Surfer. Has anyone had experience with either one and does anyone know how to purchase. Seems like all places out of stock.
RC boats have to cope with the saltwater. You might be better off with a drone. It's a proven technology. They became so popular that they were outlawed here in Hawaii but I don't know about Florida.
Illegal in Oregon too.
My 1st thought "Air Jaws" taking the bait midway ;D
Steve/Lee - If you know, what was the justification for making drones illegal? Myself I can think of numerous reasons both pro/con but wondering what happened in your fisheries if you know? - john
In 2022 the governor said it was to protect the resource. But, DLNR didn't come up with the idea. Traditionalists thought drones were an unfair advantage in recreational harvest of ulua (trevally). We're fighting to see who gets to catch the last fish.
The turds in Salem do not nead a reason to mess with hunters and fishermen. They recently past legislation requireong a $20 anual fee for all non powrred watercraft, including inertubes. Public uproar caused the OMB to back down on the tubes but any other floating device is being taxed.
I got a harbor freight rc boat and a clip from a side planer it works ok,,,tranmission range was not that great and that's what I would look 4 or you might be swimming with the sharks,,,, ;D
I was "buzzed" several times by drones while Kayak fishing. I found it real irritating and was wishing for a flare gun. 1st point, then shoot if they persisted. Out there, it's a nice feeling to not be on camera for once. I know though, there are 3 devices with GPS onboard that track my whereabouts.
I thought a paint ball gun would be sufficient.
The drone people go to the beach to fly and quickly get tired of looking down at water. Then they spot a boat off in the distance and ......
:) Have some fun with a potato gun / bait cannon .
Ain't happened in a few years, perhaps that ban is being enforced. Thinking about it, I have 4 devices that can track where I am when I include the emergency beacon in my vest. Phone, GPS in motor system battery, GPS in Fish finder system.
