here is the list for the 3-day trip on the spirit of adventure, july 5-8, 2026. the price for the boat is $39,525. i'm going to call it $1650 per person for 24 guys. adding tip of about 17% brings the price to $1925 per person. i've been on the phone for the last 2 weeks, badgering everyone, and i think that the trip is filled. there is a possibility that we could run with 26. in that case, i will be handing out $150 per person when i take roll call on the boat.
if anyone else is interested, please let me know. hey, life happens. you never know. there might be room. thanks, alan

gentlemen, thank you. the trip is filled and deposits are sent. i will let you know when final checks are due. again, thank you. alan
Can't wait! One of the only things I look forward to all year
300 pound mono knife jigs leaders and 300 pound mono kite leaders headed to the Spirit of Adventure. There are 50 of each. They were all individually tested to 75 pounds. It's alot of work, but you can't have one fail on a big fish!!!

Glad to see I'm not the only one getting gear situated already!
they're doing pretty well right now.
Yup if the conditions hold it could be the trip of a lifetime!
I really hope this keeps up!
Ok, this is going to be my first AlanTani.com long range, well three day, and not wanting to be "that guy" I figured I'd ask what the natives are bring in their tackle kits.
I know the obvious:
Flat Falls
Yo-Yo
Surface Iron
Poppers
Snipers
Fly Line Tackle
Anything unique rigging/s I need to think about for bait fishing?
Really looking forward to this trip, it's been a rough few weeks on me and my family, I actually called Alan to cancel twice... Think I'll take it out on some fish. 8)
Thanks,
Steve
mostly knife jigs, colt snipers and some flat falls. guys are even using plain lead 16 ounce torpedo weights.
I wonder what the fuel surcharge will be......
dunno. not much can be done about that one.

That's hilarious. All the youtube channels are saying it has to be "insert esoteric color pattern here" or you won't get bit.....

I caught a nice one last season on a purple spray painted 16oz weight with two 7/0 assist hooks. Only reason it was purple was because that was the only color I had at the time, "borrowed it" from my wifes craft box.
If you're dropping it to 400' at 2AM how much color could they actually see?
My last 2 cow BFT saw a grey 16 ounce sinker but did not see the 2 12/0 hooks.

A little over a month to go..... who's started to inspect, inventory, replace and organize gear?
Due to family medical emergency my parents will be moving in with my wife and I, so I have to back out of the trip.
If someone on the waiting list want's my spot, we can work out the details. I'll follow the sequence of the list to be fair. If folks on the list don't want my spot, I'll open it up to everyone.
Please PM me if interested.
Getting old sucks.
Thanks,
Steve
