Title: Hi from Australia
Post by: devoker on August 28, 2025, 09:07:43 AM
Hi, this is Matt. I am from Turkey but living in Australia. I have been servicing my spinning reels for a while and was trying to learn more about lubrication and every question in google somehow redirected me here :D
I have learnt so much from this forum in the last couple of weeks and decided to join.

Not many big fish unfortunately. I only fish landbased and mostly use light metal jigs and slugs under 20g in Sydney harbour. It is not easy to catch large specimen inside the harbour, unfortunately the last kingfish season was terrible and I gave up on chasing them. Instead, I usually chase tailor (bluefish) and aussie salmon on light spinning setups using pe0.6-0.8 (they feel like game fishing on light setups), and occasinal bycatchs like bonito, mulloway, dusky flathead, lots of small snapper, and a few rare gurnards.

Cheers mate, I exclusively fish Sydney harbour using only artificials with light setups. 2500-5000 ultegra-stradic-miravels, nothing fancy
