Title: Shimano Spheros Question
Post by: kriznol on September 06, 2025, 05:52:29 PM
I just spooled up a new Shimano Spheros SW A 6000 (SPSW6000HGA). When the drag knob came off, a click pin and spring popped out. I reinstalled them in the obvious location (the round recess in the drag knob) but I'm not getting any "click" feel when I turn the drag knob. The Shimano parts diagram doesn't even show these parts, as the drag knob has a single part number. Does anyone have a better parts diagram? What am I doing wrong?

Also, the nut pictured doesn't stay recessed in the plastic drag knob. Once the nut is threaded onto the main shaft, the plastic drag knob will fall off when the reel is angled down. How is the nut supposed to be retained within the knob?

I got it figured out. The drag knob assembly is a single part number in the schematics. In reality, it consists of several parts - the top plastic, bottom plastic, nut, spring, clicker pin, and clicker pin spring. The top and bottom plastic pieces of the drag knob on my reel had come apart and spilled the internals. It seems like the two plastic pieces hadn't been property snapped together at the factory. I ordered a new knob, which comes all put together. Problem solved.
