I'm restoring a Squidder I got for cheap at a yard sale. The spring that's attached to the freespool lever looks a bit bent out of shape (pic attached). The jack is very hard to remove as well. Can someone confirm this doesn't look right? If so, how easy is it to fix? I have a donor reel I could pull from.
It looks good to me.
Spread looks ok. Try flipping the yoke over

When I opened it up, it was like this. I knew it looked funky lol. I have a parts reel I can pull from and replace it. Some had been inside the reel previously because it had a stainless spacing sleeve.
Honestly, after looking at it. I just think it's the wrong spring? How can you put it in upside down?
Yeah, having difficulty seeing how it COULD be upside-down.
It's not unreasonable that an enterprising fisherman (who doesn't realize most Penn parts are easy to get) could attempt to make their own spring, and after a few attempts get it close enough to work, even if not as well as it should. I've done so before, I can't remember what reel it was for but it was something I couldn't reorder.
I'm sure mystic could get you sorted. And if for some reason they can't, I probably have a few I just gotta dig for them.
