Hello everyone,
my name is Hubert and I'm writing from Slovenia. I've been a silent reader of this forum for many years, but only recently decided to finally join. Until now, most of my attention was on DAM Quick reels - and since I could find almost everything I needed on German forums, I never felt the urge to post here.
Lately, however, I've been diving deeper into Penn and Mitchell reels, and I quickly realized that this forum is the perfect place to get the proper answers, knowledge, and inspiration for these models.
My main interest is collecting and restoring old reels: sometimes proper restorations, sometimes a few "Frankenstein reel" experiments. I especially enjoy digging into the history of production runs, model variations, technical details, and other small details that make these reels so fascinating.
I look forward to learning from your expertise, and if I can contribute something useful in return - whether tips, photos, or stories from my collection - even better.
Tight lines and best regards,
Hubert

There are plenty of opportunities for good fishing here in Slovenia. And although it's a very small country, we have it all - from mountain streams to lakes, and even a few kilometers of coastline.
I don't fish in saltwater, though. I prefer my local rivers and ponds, where I mainly target trout, pike, carp, chub, and barbel.
Howdy!
Hello, Hubert. Slovenia, one of those European countries I didn't know about when I was a kid. Thanks for the photos.
If I remember right, foreigners including Americans from the USA, are taking advantage of the lower cost of College there.
