Hi Folks,
Got a TLD30 2 speed and the knob is busted. Is there a recommended knob that I can replace with this?
Figured, I'd reuse the handle if possible and just replace the knob. The knob appears to be pressed in.
Assume you have to drill out the center pin? Or is there another method to remove it. It does not appear to use a c-clip to hold it in place, but rather it appears to be just pressed in.
If there is a thread somewhere that covers this; Please let me know. Sorry if I missed it if it was already posted in the past.
Thanks.
Or is it better to just buy a new handle and replace it vs trying to monkey around just replacing the knob?
Drill it out and install a replacement.... or buy a new handle from shimano.

Any recommended power handles for this that I should target? Or is it not worth making the change with the 2 speed version of the reel?
Alan's handles are nice.

Not sure if this would work.
ID measurement of the square hole shown on the calipers in metric & inches.
N/C, if you want it. Shipping is $6.
Alan's are much better than the factory cranks though.
Best, Fred
Thanks guys.
In the next few days, I'll pull the old handle off and try drilling out the old knob on the drill press.
Which knobs have you found to be the ideal size and shape? I saw that older thread where Alan linked the Smooth Drag site. There are round knobs, T bars, etc. Different sizes in fact.
With the 2 speed; and low gear speed option...cranking power has not been an issue for my use case (mostly albacore troll). Just looking for a knob that is comfortable and durable.
