Title: Orvis 300
Post by: Arkansas Dave on October 10, 2025, 10:22:02 PM
I bought a orvis 300 spinning reel a couple of days ago and I wanted to know more about it but I cant find anything about when it was produced. I'm sure someone here is familiar with it.

Orvis first offered the 200 (RH only) in 1956 and the 300 (RH)/301(LH) in 1958. Both models were offered  until 1967.  They also came out with a 350/351 model in 1962.  These style reels were not worm gear driven.

It's in great condition. I bought it along with a South Bend 10' lazy day pole and a Garcia Mitchell 3-0-0 that's on a Conolon rod. I paid $40 for all of it. Thanks for the info Tommy. I really appreciate it.

South Bend LDH-10 telescopic pole. Internet search says its not a widely known model, and that its probably a discontinued version of the "Extendo" pole or the "Crappie Stalker". Anyone out there know anything about it ?
