Title: 9/0 Question
Post by: maine guide on April 11, 2012, 11:16:44 PM
I just picked up a beauty that I plan to strip and may one day use. My question is - what is the ht-100 version of the fiber washer (4-115) that goes under the main gear?

Thanks for all the help. This site is addicting!

I've been using the same HT-100 that I  use in the gear for the reel that I'm working on, in this case it would be the 6-115, one under the gear and five in. I've been doing it for about a year now on all of my reels and haven't had any problems. If you want to get close to the 4-115, try 6-114.

Thanks Sal. One other question. Say I stuck with the original asbestos washers that are in there currently. Any positive or negative to greasing them with Cal 's?  The reel looks like it saw very little use.  Thanks in advance.

From my past experiance I'd say keep grease and oil away from the old washers.
