I'm looking at the specifications comparing the sealine 50h and the 300h and I've noticed that they both have very similar line capacity and weight, with a different gear ratio between the two. I've search high and low, but can't find anything comparing the two as far as sizes go and any other differences. Can anyone help explain the differences?
I've also seen the rockcod 610 and 910, besides the handle knob and the reel mounted grip thing are they different from the 600h and 900h? And I know this is gonna show that I'm not an offshore guy, but what is the handle mounted on the reel called, how is it used, and is it useful?
Thanks everyone! I just got my first sealine, a 30 super high speed. Its going to be my 8 and bait reel for drum and sharks here in NC.
There was a time when fishing rock cod they would fish 500-800' with 5 lb weights and 8-15 hooks. No braid them so a big reel with a long handle arm full Of Dacron were called for. They also used a plate on the rod so it could lay on the rail while cranking. Rules changed and gear with it so there's not much use for those giant reels any more. The handle was to carry them
Hello HeaveIt,

The specs are that, the specs.
50H and 300H
What the specs don't say is that the 50H's width > height...it mimics the Penn Jigmaster profile but is full metal framed.
The 300H has a "square" profile...less wide but taller than the 50H.
The 50H and 300H pinion and main gear sets are interchangeable.
610 and 910
In addition to the differences you noted, the sideplates of the these also lack the rings of their respective 600H and 900H cousins.
