Title: Float for crappie fishing
Post by: quang tran on November 28, 2025, 06:04:20 PM
Can't sleep last night may be from too much drink so I decided to make some float to take grandkids crappie fishing .Start with some chip Comet foam float and carbon tube ,adding  different weight to fish with live bait ,1/32 oz jig or 1/16 oz jig . These float can be fix deep or slip-float and can add light for night fishing

Pretty nice. How do you attach the float to the line?

Float is made with carbon tube that have hole go through . To use as split float slide line through hole then tie a jig ,add a small weight above 5" above jig , tie a knot with dental floss as float stop . To fish with minnow I use longer float , add a bigger weight only 4" above hook ( less than the length of float ) The reason for short distance from hook to weight is when cast out float and weight will go first ,hook and bait is trail behind and easy to get tangle around float . To use as fix float slice a piece of surgical tube (3/16 ) first ,push the tube on top of float then perk a light stick inside tube , line will be hold here
