Title: Shogun Sportfishing - December 7-17, 2025
Post by: alantani on December 06, 2025, 04:24:05 AM
this is going to be my third trip ever on a charter boat other than the spirit of adventure.  the only other boats were the intrepid once, and the royal polaris once.  i get to fish with steve carson from penn.  really looking forward to this.  i'm going by myself, no charter master responsibilities, not even another guy to have to rig up. the weather is going to be mostly calm the entire time.  lots of big fish in the few reports that i've seen.  stay tuned!!

Just gassed up in lost hills. Decided to let myself sleep in 2 hours. Was on the road by 6:45 instead of 5am. Been an easy drive so far.

3 wahoo on bombs for day one. 4 small yellowfin on day 2. We also stopped for small yellowtail,  but I slept through it. Then skunked yesterday and skunked so far today.

The air filters on the boat had not been changed in a long time. I think it set off my allergies.  I was pretty wiped out on day two. The crew changed out the air filters and I was a million times better. I guess it could have been a 24 hour flu bug, but when I catch a cold or flu, I'm typically sick for weeks.

Hang in their Boss and bring some of that sun back with you!

It's miserable here, week four of constant fog and temps not even reaching 45. We'd rather be getting skunked with you all than deal with this weather.

Nobody likes a weather gloater but its been pretty sunny just up the road in Auburn every day. Nice right now too. If you need some sun its only 15 minutes away, keep it a secret.

Joel,

The wife and I went to Apple Hill a couple weeks ago to get a tree...we saw and more importantly felt the sun!

Didn't realize you were local, let's meet at Knee Deep and have a beer!

Hope the Boss is catching fish.

Merry Christmas
