It seems to me the fifth-size bags should fit smaller reels and the larger bags should fit saltwater reels. Anybody in the group tried it?
Crown Royal bags are great for reel storage. They protect from scratches and breathe so that there is little chance for condensation if your reels were not dried completely after their freshwater rinse. Somewhere I even acquired a suede Crown Royal bag. Very classy.
My dad used them as covers for his rod mounted spinning reels. He'd cut a hole in the bottom, sew a little gold hem around the hole so it didn't fray and then just slip them over the rod from the back and tie the draw string in front of the reel. Worked pretty well for his intentional purposes.
Yup, they work well. Doubled gives you more padding. I do not drink whisky often but several friends do and I get their bags.
They work great. I have a bunch in different colour's.

LUV the purple Crown Royal Bags for storing fishing reels!!!!
Fred brought out a TON of gear on a Fishing & Camping trip in July 2017 & told us each to grab what we would like.
We all stood around and I finally said, "As the old saying goes, NEVER look a Gift Horse in the Mouth!!!"
What EVER that means.

I asked Fred if he had any more of the whisky bags, he said hang on.

So I grabbed a handful!!!! And since Fred sends EACH reel back with a new cloth or microfiber bag, I now have PLENTY for future REEL purchases.
THANKS FRED!!!!
