Title: Picked up Over the Last 6 Weeks
Post by: foakes on December 23, 2025, 02:24:08 AM
Picked up a Cold Steel SRK-C, an Old Timer "Whittlers" knife, an Old Timer USA 510T locker, a Ruike locker self-opener, and found in the bottom of an old tackle box —- a Buck 112 with a poorly sharpened blade (but I'll take care of that).

Try to pick up a couple of knives every month —- just whatever interests me.

Best, Fred

If the blade on the 112 is messed up, Buck will replace it for $10. The $10 fee includes their $6.95 Spa service, which includes sharpening, polish, and slight adjustments, as well as return shipping. They do a bang up job.

Thanks, I'll check with them.  I didn't buy it new though.  Just found it in an old tackle box I bought from an estate last year. Tossed out the crap like old hooks and power bait and rubber worms that burned the trays.  Tossed out the box also!

Be nice if they did it though!

Best, Fred

Not a problem. Buck has a Lifetime warranty, and it doesn't matter who bought it. I've sent quite a few ebay purchases back to them to be refurbished.

Very cool service!  I have a buck fixed blade and a case fixed blade I got from my father in law years ago. They both need some love. Bad dull, and blades are scuffed up a good bit on both. Do you think Buck would also dothat work on my case? or just the old Buck. I forget the model numbers, both are fixed blade hunting knives, maybe 6-8 inch blades.

I've owned a Buck 110 (at least one) since the late 1970's.  Greatest knife ever.
