I have been on a Shakespeare kick lately & decided to get a 2062 EF 1965.

That is a beautiful reel, James! I have a couple Penn 712z, but I've been tempted to try a Shakespeare 2062 ever since a few weeks ago, when I discovered Tommy's old thread comparing the Shakespeare 2062 and Penn 712z:

Tommy's conclusion was that the 2062 has similar quality to the 712z but is lighter.

Yes Mark I have read Tommy's comparison several times.I have a weakness for 712s it was my 1st greenie,I now have 4-712s plus one 712z

I love my Shakespeares but my Penn 712Z is a smooth running reel, and I have a greenie, maybe a 710? Can't go too far wrong either way.
