Just curious if anyone is going to the PCS show and what gear you're hoping to buy?

I'm going today to take a stroll. Nothing specific I'm looking to get. Alan said he's flying down today and will be there all 4 days.

This was the first fishing show I've ever been to that I didn't buy anything. I checked out the Penn Fathom 500 and Avet JX Winch. I stopped a talked to the guys at the Excel booth and to Rosie at the Cedros Sportfishing booth.

I was at the show yesterday too. I ran into Mark and chatted a bit. I bought A Daiwaa SD 15j slow pitch reel, a few hooks and lead heads and a pack of Nomad Jerk Squids. I'll see if I can interest a halibut with the squids when I get to Cedros Island.
I got to the show right at opening and it was REALLY crowded. I walked into the Turner's sale area and couldn't believe the crowd. There was a huge line just to get to the reel counter. The cash register line was worse. When I walked by at about 3:00 things were much better. I won't rush to be early again.
Earlier in the day, I went to Charkbait's shop for their sale. I actually bought more there than at the PCS. The prices seemed as good as the show and selection was good. Next year I may just go to Bob Sands and Charkbait.
To me, the advantage of the show is the access to the Reps of the various manufacturers and services. I talked with Steve Carson of Penn for a while about some fishing techniques and the gear I was considering for them and he was very helpful.

Good idea to go to Charkbait and Bob Sands. Same or better prices and you save the $20 admission and $15 parking at the show! A few years back I went to Charkbait on my way to the BHS then skipped it and went home.
