Title: Another golf club rod
Post by: quang tran on March 25, 2026, 05:36:31 AM
I'm sick for a month now ,can't go fishing and got  boring so I decided making another rod even I have so many . Few year ago my son in law made me a 10' rod with Black hole Suzuki blank ,it cast far but not enough back bone and I like fast action rod and bigger guides to allow leader knot easy to go though
I use a Fenwick golf shaft attack to 6' Allstar Titanium 15-30lbs blank to make 8'6' casting rod with 9 guides . #14,#12 Chinese SIC and 7 #10 Fuji Oxide guides with #10 Chinese SIC tiptop . Reel seat glue on golf shaft without any grip .I have another Fenwick reel seat but it's not as good quality as Fuji seat, for the rear grip I use chair tip ,sand it round with a piece of cord , i like to roll it in the palm of left hand when casting

Nice concept. I like the Fuji seat you're using as a sleeve, they don't sell that model here or at least haven't seen one.

I got the reel seat at Cut-Rate in South Houston many years ago ,the owner saw I dig in the box and sell me whole box for $20 ,there are 65 in box and some Aluminium seat also .
Bring out for a test with 5/8" nut about 1 1/2 oz ,cast OK then got bad birdnet
