I mostly fish freshwater & like to pick out rods to match my reels.
Aesthetics is part of my choice
I prefer cork handles & guides w/o inserts.
The specs are 6.5' med/heavy fast action for bass, lure weight 5/8-3/4oz.
Bream rods:5-10' light/med fast action lure weight up to 1/8 oz
I recently mounted my 2062 to a med/hvy fast action fenwick eagle rod
I had not being used.
I have never noticed it before it seems you can feel the weight of the fish more than on a light action rod Most of the battle is given way to the limberness of the rod that is bending during the battle & you don't feel the fish as much as on a stiffer
Rod.
Has anyone else noticed this,I primarily use fast action regardless
Of rod weight rating.
I pick the action of rod depend on what bait I use
For jig I choice X-fast action rod so I can fell the fish right away when it take bait
For unweighted worm fishing I like M.heavy rod with fast tip
For spinnerbait I like moderate fast action rod
For blue gill ( bream ) I like slow action , light rod to fish with night crawler , with float of some time no float .no weight
I use Medium X-fast for crappie to feel fish but can lift >1 lb fish
