Title: 2026 Beast Feast Trip
Post by: jgp12000 on April 25, 2026, 11:56:02 PM
My daughter's church has a men's beast feast every April. The day starts at a members 10 acre pond. This Pond has bubblers & feeders all around. Cypress trees strategically scattered about & is The one of the nicest ponds I have ever seen.

My son-in-law, 2 grandsons & myself kept 50 Between 8-11 a.m. Anything under 16" the owner wanted harvested.

I took my dad's '74 Abumatic 290/Eagle Claw rod. Both grandsons caught fish on it. He would have been 89 now if he were still with us & surely would have enjoyed being there, It felt like he was.

We caught some of the biggest bream
On a blue jointed shad rap w/orange belly. Bass were nailing it. The feast started at 5 my favorite is the fried  coconut pheasant. Then the smoked Bacon wrapped pheasant.

I give you credit for filleting fish that size. I don't like filtering rockfish less than 2 lbs .... :-\

Cheers

If you're going to take kids fishing that's a perfect scenario, beautiful spot and a lot of biting fish
