My oldest son and I took a three day weekend to camp and fish at the Assateague Island National Seashore. We left home after work Thursday and slept in a parking lot until sunrise, then hit the beach. Friday had the best conditions I have ever had there, light East wind, sun, clear water. We caught 5 Black Drum, 2 Stripers, and a dozen Clear Nose Skates. All caught on sand fleas.

My son boiled some sand fleas. They tasted like crunchy shrimp. They would be better with a better rinse to get the sand out and some cocktail sauce.

Friday night through Sunday got cold and very windy. No bites on Saturday. The wind was so rough we watched rods from the truck. I thought our tent would blow away with us in it Saturday night. We need a camper.

Mostly Penn Spinfishers from a 704 to a SVI6500, a magged Jigmaster, and Daiwa GS-60 and a Daiwa I forgot the model.
Nice! Glad you got one good weather day of fishing. I would think striper would be tastier than sand fleas: more filling too. 8)
NIce work!
Nice! My neck of the woods
cool, I love surf fishing ^-^
Nice catches and a great way to spend the weekend.
It was blustery and cold the last time I was there; that was fifteen years ago.
Looks like the mystery Daiwa could be an A-400?
Looks like a great trip! Great variety of fish, thank you so much for sharing!!! - john
