Hi all, thought you might like to see this:
A local tackle warehouse was mass clearing their stock lately, and they had a lot of unsold Penn stock from god knows when.

Did not touch these because I picked this baby for ~38 USD. Its been a while since I touched Penn reels, but I reckon its a new gear sleeve and steel dog to get these back in action?

That's cool. The 340 isn't common.
$38 for that reel, handle, and frame is a steal
What price did they have on the 113's?

~38 USD for 2. Alas, they aren't flying off the shelves.
There are Penn 340s, 320LDs and 330LDs priced the same way.

Pretty sure I would give $38 for a new 113 senator. Did I read for two?
ware do eye send muh monies?
112H with a Tiburon frame and handle for $39?? WOW!
Yeah, an SS gear-sleeve and dog and you're set.
I don't see the 340's?
I had a 330LD, a graphite levelwind with a lever drag.
I am going to take a wild guess these reels are in a British English speaking country in the Pacific Ocean.

Gregg, theres only 1 340gt in the pic. Middle front, directly in front of the one open box in the pic

Yeah, Singapore. I have no idea why the 113 was even imported. The 113H exists and not for much more money. These are the graphite frame Senators. And these were not popular reels back then - the 525-555 Mag, Mag Power, Abu 7k series and Daiwa Sealines were the rage.
Very old Penn gear coming out the woodwork, including UK style surf rods.
Did you know these guys were selling Fathom 40LWs for the same price as they were the Senators? Wonder why they're all gone.
Those graphite half frame 113 reels are sweet reels. They'd sell fast here in the USA
Today was the last day of the sale. They actually managed to sell out all the Senators, but there was a mountain of 320 and 330LDs unsold.
To pivot a bit, my 112H has a Tiburon frame, spool, and handle. I would like to make it as strong as possible to differentiate it from the other reels in my lineup.
Would it be worth to add steel gears in addition to a steel gear sleeve? For what its worth I already have a Penn 980 and a Daiwa Slosh 50 so I'm not even sure there is some advantage fishing the 112H over those.
