Howzit good people,
I own(ed) a old Shimano Stella STL-6000FA.
Last weekend's outing the reel gave it away. Send it to a friend of mine who service my reels and after opening it he found out that I didn't pay too much attention to the care of my precious reel.
He listed the following parts that I'he been struggling to find.
6205 - Oscillating Slider Bushing
6206 - Oscillating Pawl
2409 - Worm Shaft Spacer
8035 - Ball Bearing
8262 - Worm Shaft Ring
8192 - Drag Knob
Shimano South Africa mentioned it's a discontinued model and there are no spares available. BUY a new model they said. But I'm avid to have my old reel fixed and remove de (ed) from own(ed) on the first sentence of this post.
I will be trevelling to the US (west Coast trip) at the end of the month and it would be great if I could find the parts and have it shipped to my hotel.
Either I get all the parts or I will have a box of parts.
Please help me!!!
Your friend will be struggling with those parts because Shimano threw out their old part numbering system a couple of years back, and cross-referencing is not easy. But also that is quite an old reel now. Let me see what I can find.
EDIT:
6205 - Oscillating Slider Bushing
6206 - Oscillating Pawl
These two, there isn't even an updated part number for. I'd go looking for a donor Sustain SA-6000FD or Stradic ST-6000FH or ST-8000FH as these used basically the same oscillation block and have the same pawl and bushing.
2409 - Worm Shaft Spacer
Also present in the donor reels above, but also no longer available. Pretty generic item though.
8035 - Ball Bearing
Ball bearings are generic, measure and order a replacement.
8262 - Worm Shaft Ring
I can only find this on old Stellas, that will be a problem although it looks like an extremely generic part
8192 - Drag Knob
No way
Peter, I don't know much about Shimano, but here is a source. Dominick
