What is your opinion on the Penn International 975CSLD? What inshore fish are these reels best for? Thank you

I have the 975CS Star drag.  Casts like a dream (it is well documented elsewhere merits of star drag vs. LD for casting).  I have caught yellowtail and small (40-50# class) yellowfin with zero issues.  Very sweet reel, just doesn't seem to make it into my "front line" lineup on the long trips as much anymore - I usually lean toward my Lexa. Your LD should be fine for any inshore species. - john

A friend has one for bottom fishing for nearshore grouper, 24" or less, grunts, and most snapper. His is the star drag model with levelwind. He has it on a jigging type rod, and it's a pretty light, but strong set up. I would think you could tackle just about anything inshore.
