can anyone here plz tell me what fd  and fb stands for in shimano reels...

FD = front drag on spinners
Not a clue about FB (I'm not a Shimano guy)

The "F" means front drag and the next letter indicates the generation of the particular model of reel.  FA was the first front drag model, followed by FB, FC, FD, etc.

Seems like Shimano sometimes skips a letter too.  For example, the Baitrunners went from B to D and I think Shimano has also skipped C on some other models.
