Title: TDA 153HSTL and HSTLA
Post by: Donnelly on April 29, 2012, 08:56:24 PM
Hi,

I can't tell from the schematics which spacer the pinion shaft (key number 56) should be bearing on. Is it the copper colored spacer or the black vinyl spacer? In other words which spacer is covered up by the other spacer? They don't say in the part description which part (Key number 6 and Key number 7) is copper (or possibly brass) and which one is vinyl.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

G'day Donnelly,
The pinion shaft bears against the copper spacer, with the vinyl underneath.
In the 153HSTLA schematic (here: http://www.mikesreelrepair.com/schematics/albums/userpics/TDA153HSTLA.pdf (http://www.mikesreelrepair.com/schematics/albums/userpics/TDA153HSTLA.pdf)), they're part numbers 9 (square copper) and 10 (round vinyl).
Hope that's of some assistance.
Good luck, Justin

Hi Justin,

The spacers I'm referring to are numbers 79 and 80 in this schematic, not 9 and 10. I own 7 of the 153HSTLA's and love them. I have 5 of the older model HST's and they are identical except for a few small differences in the way the handle nut is covered. The spacers I'm referring to are identical on both models.

Thanks for the response though.

Ed

Oh right, the other side.
The order is the same - copper on top (#79), rubber beneath (#80).
Cheers, Justin
