Open question for you guys has anyone replaced the grease impregnated graphite washers with carbontex and if so did you smear them with grease?

G'day and welcome kbad,
I did a Carbontex upgrade on this Saltiga Z40 (http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=2912.0 (http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=2912.0)) a few months after doing the service shown here and greased lightly with Cal's.
This reel gets a work-out as it's owned by a charter operator.
It's still going strong and he's happy with the drag range/quality.
Hope that's of some assistance.
Cheers, Justin

the newer saltigas have carbon fiber drag washers already.  the most i would do is grease them with cals grease.  otherwise, you should be fine.  they do not need to be replaced.

yeah, the hard carbon drag washers.  those have to go.  go to smoothdrag.com and get a set of drags and some drag grease.
