Title: Carbon Fiber or Just Fiber for Black Max?
Post by: vudo on May 28, 2012, 02:24:02 AM
I've been going through all my reels and replacing all non carbon fiber washers on all of them including the one under the main gear.  I took the Black Max apart today and was going to replace the hard fiber washer under the main gear (right) with the carbon fiber (center) but the white plastic gear that sits just under the main gear got me thinking.  Should I go ahead with the replacement or keep the hard fiber?  My thinking was, will the greased carbon fiber wear down on the plastic gear faster where the hard fiber so far don't seem to have much of an effect?  What you do think?
