Title: Shimano ARB bearing-how much oil?
Post by: ccm on June 03, 2012, 01:32:14 PM
Hey guys,
I am replacing some of my ARB bearings on my Curado 100b's and need advice on how much oil I should use on them. I use Reel X for all of my bearings. I have heard some people say on put only one drop of oil on the bearings but considering how open the ARB bearing are this just does not seem like enough oil to me.

Don't know if it matters but I only fish saltwater.

Thanks for the advice.

I would use the TSI 321. Lasts longer...
I did use Reel X prior to getting the 321....
But I also put several drops on them to make sure they get enough..
I do this in like 12 ~ 3 ~ 6 ~ 9 clock positions....
Then I spin the Sleeve inside of it to make sure it gets spread out better & worked in...
If it looks to wet I run a Cotton swab through it to get off excess/drips....

FYI, when doing Saltwater reels, I will try and pack some grease around the top of bearing & drive shaft as I reassemble the reel.
Dont think it helps much, but I feel better!!!!

i still use corrosion x for AR bearings.  i just drizzle it through and let the excess drain out.
