Title: Diawa Saltist Black and Gold Reel STTBG35H
Post by: cougman on June 10, 2012, 01:42:45 PM
Wondering if this reel is the same or similar to the old Saltist silver 30TH?  Looking for something in this class of reel that won't break the bank.  I like the under $200 price range.  Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

pretty close.  not a big fan of either.  not having the ability to springload the dog is a deal killer for me.

That is a 6.4:1 gear ratio, Pretty fast....

The black Powder Coat and gold Spool were the only other change....
The Silver was paint? and Every one complained about that chipping off so easy..

I think the Blk/Gold was a Bass Pro Shop 'Exclusive' when it first came out.

The Older Silver Saltist was a 5:1/4.9:1.. Called a Super Torque...

If you like the Full Metal Jacket, simplicity, design and strength of the Saltist..
Look also at the Seagate & Sealine X.
Composite Frames...
$150 & $120 almost identical inside.
But a few choices in Gear ratio......
