Title: Calcutta 700CTE Drag Question
Post by: Pollack on June 14, 2012, 09:59:46 AM
Hi Everyone,
I've just purchased a calcutta and replaced the existing drag with the carbontex washers, everything is fine & works great, but my question is that why does the standard model have four washers & the CTE only two???? Surely having more of a surface area by using more washers then the drag will be smoother, and then to follow on is it possible to add more washers by possibly shortening the roller clutch bearing sleeve?? or am I barking up the wrong tree?
Best Regards
Pollack

???tough one to answer without seeing the reels. maybe difference in the diameter of  the main gear? if the cte's diameter is biggrer then there's your answer. hope this helps.

probably to keep the frame narrow, plus the single big drag inside the main gear delivered enough pressure.
