Title: OLD STYLE SMOOTH DRAGS
Post by: LTM on July 05, 2012, 04:22:18 AM
Hey all,

I have some older non-Carbon fiber Smoothdrag drag washers.  The reddish-brown extreeme smoothies and the dark-grey colored smoothies. I read some where here that some prefer these drags and would like to get your comments.  I would also like to know if I can use Cal's or Shimano drag grease on these drags.  I found quite a few of these drags for my Penn 113H series of reels and would like to put them to use instead of discarding them.

Thanx,

Leo

stick with ht-100 drag washers for your penn reels, but add cal's grease.  carbon fiber (carbontex or ht-100) with teflon grease is the best combination.

The Xtreme are actually pretty good, and can be used dry or greased.  The grey on one side, white on the other are also okay, use dry
The green ones...not so hot, if you have some email me    :-[

Carbon fiber is the best, but since you have the others you can try and see if you like.

Dawn,

I have some gray drags that are gray on both sides, should I use these dry as well?

Thanx,

Leo
