Title: Damaged 113h bearing ring
Post by: codjigger on July 11, 2012, 10:35:53 PM
Hi im new here and I have an older 113h that needed new bearings the right one came out fairly easy but I had alot of trouble takeing out the left side bearing and damaged the ring that I guess keeps the bearing in the cup? I was going to buy a replacement with the cup but it is no longer made for this older reel. The cup is fine the bearing came out with a little work i just wanted to know if it would be ok to leave that ring out or does it align the spool? The damage it has is some chips in the center of the ring from the tool I was using slipping out.

Welcome aboard codjigger. Your reel will be fine without the retaining washer on the bearing, it will actually make it easier to service the bearing  in the future.

Thank you for answering my question and the welcome. By any chance do you know how to remove the shields of boca bearings?
