In a number of posts Alan, you mention that you oil, using Corosion X, Level Wind Assemblies. What constitutes the assembly?

G'day Larry,
The 'assembly' comprises the worm gear, the line-guide carriage, the pawl and pawl cap, the worm gear cover or shield, and the (usually) nylon bushings at each end.
It's also worth minimising grease on the idler gear and worm cog within the side plate if you're looking for casting distance.
Hope that's of some assistance.
Cheers, Justin

Have a good one.

yup, pretty much everything that moves.  been meaning to do a full post on the basic ambassaduer.  you clean out the levelwind parts and dip them in TSI and they spin like crazy!!!!!! to make it worth your time, you seriously have to clean out everything.  for most reels, just use corrosion x.  it's alot cheaper.

I use royal Purple oil on it.

My lube for levelwinds is simple.

Forget to put them in when you reassemble the reel.
