Ferrule your rods your self. Locking chromed brass ferrules are available in 5/8', 3/4", and 7/8" diameters. My 130 lb. rods have a 3/4, or 7/8 ferrule. I have landed numerous YFT's to 200 using drag pressures over 25 without a failure. One rod is graphite and two are glass.

Man that sucks,I've always liked solid rod blanks for that very reason, all it takes is one imperfection you can't see and BOOM it all goes bad, thats a bummer.

Get a cheap solid fiberglass blank, cut it to length, insert and glue it in the rod sections. Then you can ferrule your rod and enjoy fishing with it without worries of failure.
