I'm sorry if this has been covered before, but I did a couple of searches and couldn't find the answer

I have a circa late 1980's Senator 114H with a chromed bronze spool. I was wondering if I could replace it with an aluminum spool from a 114HL / 114HL2?

The 114 HL is a direct fit. I do not believe the 114 HL2 will work.
