Title: Calcutta 700s - Sticky Clutch Button
Post by: brown on October 23, 2012, 11:33:15 AM
can anyone suggest a remedy for a sticky clutch button on the Calcutta 700s?? after breaking it down and reassembling i can get it to work for a dozen times, then it just turns back to custard. i just installed a new clutch retraction spring to no avail.

it feels as though the drama is in the clutch plate/clutch pawl which i was going to give 'tweak'

any suggestions appreciated...cheers

one problem i have had with the old 700 series.  i use penn drag washers for them.  the "jigmaster" thickness drag washers are single layer and sometimes the kick lever would not flip back into place properly.  using a thicker "senator" drag washer fixed that problem.  the senator ht-100's have a core of fiberglass with carbon fiber on either side.  the thicker drag washer gave the kick lever enough clearance.  did you use a carbontex set or did you hobble together a set of penn drag washers?
