Title: still need a penn 1\0 ? and penn 49 ?
Post by: Walter_Lars on October 15, 2009, 09:08:34 AM
in a posting a while you mention you never worked on a 1\0 but were looking for one
I picked up one at a local garage sale  plus a 49 mariner total price $5.00
I am hoping I can hot-rod the 49 into a 349 H
it already has a aluminum spool
I have recentley gotten to using old school reels

the stainless steel gear sleeves are the best place to start, then the drag washers and an oversized handle grip!  careful, this can be very addicting........

OK I will start rebuilding them  since I only have $2.50 in each reel  I am gonna use your tutorials to rebuild them  and up grade them  from I have been able to  from what I have read  here and other places  looks like  I can use a lot of 501 parts  for the 1/0   and for the 49 spacer bars and reel seats etc
