Title: Okuma
Post by: fishingnut on October 17, 2009, 09:53:24 PM
Is there a upgrade spring for the clicker of a Okuma TG 50W II it seems a little weak. It seems different from other reels I used in the past because you cant adjust the tension on the spool. I took the spring out to investigate it. The spring is a fine wire with limited strength to push on the pawl. The reel is used for chunk fishing tuna with 1lb of lead on it almost free spools. Any suggestions?

for modifications like this, i've got boxes of old junk parts and can usually find something that fits.  that will not help you, however.  check out mcmaster.com http://www.mcmaster.com/#compression-and-die-springs/=44elfk and see if you can match something up.  okuma may be able to help as well.  alan
