Bluefish, in Afrikaans in South Africa we call them "Elf" translated meaning "eleven" or in english "Shad". Very good to braai freshly caught with some garlic butter. Some good sized specimens in the clip congrats.

My wife is from Durrbahn and her dad lived in Cape Town (Durbahnville), she has told me lots of stories of running out on bass boats and then smoking elf the boys caught, now I know what she was talking about.

Hi Ron, you should visit Durban and Durbanville and go catch the Elf yourself, they are running right now, till middle March when they normally go North towards Durban.
