Title: lucky escape
Post by: wallacewt on December 11, 2012, 01:25:16 AM
went squidding last night, got 500m from jetty and petrol pump broke down. strong wind and current, dropped pick and rang rescue. attached tow rope and safely back at jetty.  skipper went to take tow rope off  and rescue boat went into reverse instead of neutral by mistake. boat crashed into ours, jetty, and tow rope tightened. both of the skippers legs were over the side . he did arse over head backwards,no injuries, not even a scratch or bruise.he was that close to loosing both legs, cut off or wrapped in the tow rope.    make it a double op rum.

I'm glad to hear no one was hurt. Things go wrong so quickly.  Bob
