Title: Aluminium Power Knobs for Spinning Reels - Sustain Stradic etc
Post by: frank tank on December 11, 2012, 06:31:47 PM
I ordered some aluminium power knobs for Shimano Sustain 5000 FE's (previous model) from Ebay. These are considerably cheaper than name brand power knobs at only $15 vs $60++

The ones i received have no bearings and i am wanting to find out what the others offer that are better because i am situated in Africa i can not see or inspect the other models.

Hi Frank,

In servicing reels, I see a lot of these bearing go bad, breaking while use, and the tiny little balls get stuck everywhere damaging the knob shaft...then you have to replace the entire arm.  If you have ones without bearings, I would go with those myself.
