Hey alan thanks for the encouragement (and the tutorial) i just finished my first service and it works and everything. I did an old penn #85. I just wanted to practice on a reel that i didn't care about. I see now that it is very much like many of it's penn cousins. I hope this is the start to many rebuilds to come. I may even take apart one of my accurates one of these days ??? ???
there are four basic fishing reel designs, the penn senator, the shakespeare (chinese) star drags, lever drags and spinners. you've just mastered the hardes one. all of the other reels are straight in and straight out. welcome to the club!
