Title: stubborn spool pin

Alan what do you do is you have a stubborn spool pin and you want to replace the bearings?

i use those modified vise grips.  these will press the pin inwards until one end of the pin is flush with the spool shaft.  then i put a pin punch in my drill press and use this arrangement to push the pin all the rest of the way out.  that usually works.  alan

Happy Thanksgiving! a Pin punch is this a punch you modified? and if so could you show me how to modify one?  by the way i messed up my pliers but now got a hobby vice grip which will be perfect for use as i can rotate the vice 360 degrees  ;D
