Title: Penn 975 Tutorial
Post by: thunnus69 on January 15, 2013, 02:05:18 PM
Any tutorial for taking apart the side plate opposite the handle side plate on a 975 star drag?  Friend says "it's rough" when free spooling.  Some saltwater intrusion but it cleaned up nicely.  I followed the only tutorial I could find on this site that breaks down the handle side of the reel.  BTW I spun the spool and it did not seem rough at all.  Maybe just needed cleaning out and re-lubing.
Thoughts , ideas?
Thanks,
Joe

Thanks once again Alan.  I used this tutorial earlier to take apart the handle side.  I fear taking apart the oppisite side will lead to trouble without a schematic or similarly useful tutorial. BTW I spoke to Cal who is hotroding a 12LT of mine.  I plan to post pics when he's done.  Topless Tiburon frame, Super 12, blueprint with upgraded handle. Should be sweeet!
