Well, since I have the resource working on the 113H, so I am going to check with them on the 114H 3.25:1 gear set in 316 stainless steel material.
Yeah, it will be in helical cutting gear. Let's see what my guys have to say.
I will do my best to come up with a good price on a set.
Let's see how many people want this 114H gear set.
People raise your hand if you are interested!!!!!
Thanks,
--Alan
Great.
I'm in for one set.
My hand is raised.
I'm in for one
Tom
Will you also be offering the 13-115?
I'm in for a set for sure, and If you need a New Set of Accurate 3:25-1 for the 6/0 to make exact copies, I have a complete set if that helps you and the guys....Dan

Hi Dan,
I might have to take on that offer from you. I will let you know when it is time to send those Accurate 3.25:1 gear over. I will return back to you. It has to wait after the Chinese New Year long holiday, then I can send those gears there.
Thanks,

You would already be 50% into it when making the 114H's, all you need is the pinion.
Lots of Penn guys coming out of the woodwork here ;D.
i would buy a set. Bob
Put me down for one. Rudy
I'd be up for a couple - don't really need the extra speed, would rather probably prefer the original 2.8 to one, in stainless. The strength is a plus. Simon
I would like a set when there up.
Bob ( New Jersey )
Definitely.
Will Alan get a SS gear sleeve made for the 114h? ;D

I have installed 3 of Allan's gear sleeves in 114H reels.

If you don't need the higher gear ratio the stock brass main gears run smoother.
I'll take 2... to start
Dom
VERY interested!
I'll take some and maybe some more.
Sal
On the 113h posting I mentioned wanting two sets for the 114h.

Lee, that's very true - that's what I'm running now - but would love to have stainless. Maybe just a bling thing. I'd like a 114H with a totally stainless gear train and sleeve, with the winching power it was designed with. I don't think I'll ever be in a situation where anything I'm likely to catch will strip out a 114H's bronze gears. But stainless is so tempting...
But will still take a couple of the higher geared sets!

Simon, if you do a little research, you will find that Penn did have the 2.8:1 in stainless steel.
These have the 2.8:1 stock ss gears

Sal, those are some georgous anniversary reels. I love the frames with the red spools. Are you going to fish them or are they just eye candy? Bob
Thanks Bob! no not fishing those, they do have the ss dogs though...maybe one day.
Yes those red spools look sweet.
I believe 4 persons were involved with one of those red spools there: The seller, you for buying it , Dominick, for asking you if he could buy it from you so you could send it to me and me who received it ;D.
that's what i call connections ;)
Thanks again guys!
Every time I see those reels I have to wipe the drool from my lip. Really like the trim rings... Puts the reel into a class of its own!
You're definitely connected... You might be the reincarnation of Otto hence;)
Sweet stuff,
Dom
Sal, Where did you get the red trim rings? Did you get them painted/coated? Bob
Hey Bob, those are powder coated. Check with Jamie ( Broschro ).

Sal, that's just not fair! It's almost cruel!
They are really beautiful...
Thanks for sharing. And I didn't know that Penn did 2.8:1 in stainless. Thanks for the info.
Simon
Simon, Penn put the ss gears in their anniversary reels in the 80's. Somewhere sal posted a catalog pic. It clearly said stainless steel gears. I don't remember which post. Bob
I am in for a set of both.

Thanks Bob.
If you ever see any available, let me know. I'd love 'em.
Didn't even know they existed.
Simon
If i find another set I'll let you know. So far, I've found one 114h set and two 113h sets in anniversary reels. You don't know until you open them up because people sometimes replace them. Bob

Thanks for the redirection. You can't beat that powder coat. Makes Penn look even better. Might want to invest in some gears....
