Title: Penn 714Z Help!
Post by: Bonecracker on January 25, 2013, 10:00:46 PM
Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and love it! I have a great old Penn 714Z spinner that my Dad gave me years ago and would like to get it back in working order!! First off when I took it apart 3 years ago, it was working properly, but not now!! :'(  For some reason I am having trouble with the bail mechanism as I know I did not put it back together correctly!  :'( :'( :'(

Anyone have a tortital on this Penn reels bail mechanism!  ;D ;D ;D

Try mysticparts.com I used their drawing when I did a 710Z in December. They have parts also.

Hello Bonecracker, welcome. I'm hoping you didn't crack anyone's bones ;D
these reels are pretty easy to service, try this:

since it is the bail that you're looking for, try this one as well:

These are different models, but the layout is similar.
Good luck!
