My wish list is very short

Newell Gear Set  5-1  --  one size fits 200 threw 400 series

If you need a model to work from I might find a NEW SET

I also might find a set of 5-1 Newell to Jig Master 7 112H

Both sets would have to be returned.

Mike

A 4:1 gear set for the 500, but if it could be made a little deeper so we could put in a 5 stack drag using factory washers would be great.

I've been wondering if it would be possible to cut these custom gears to use the Penn versa-drag washers? I assume they would work with a standard set of the keyed washers- you might need 4 rather than 3, but wouldn't it be possible? I wonder why Penn isn't using this system in all of their star drag reels.

My wish list;
SS gear sleeve for all Penn star drag reels
SS gear set for the same reels cut for versa-drag washers
SS dogs w/spring upgrade
Aluminum frames for 115 & 116 reels

Hmm, maybe I should take a closer look at the Penn Torque... :-\

Alan has SS gearsleeves for 111, 112, 112H, 113, 113H and 114H Senators as well as  500/501, 49/149 and 505/506.  http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=157.0 (http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=157.0)

I have the following SS dogs in stock, others can be cut with a 10 day (average) notice.  Alan might have kits available with SS dogs and gear sleeves.
15-200 (100/150/200)
15-309 (309/112)
15-500 (500/501 and 505/506)
15-113H
15-114H
15-115  (9/0)
15-116 (12/0)
15-117 (14/0 and 16/0)

A limited amount of thin (.045 and .035) metal drag washers are available for 349 and 349H reels.

Custom dog can be cut if you can provde me with the piece.   I'd prefer a 10pc minimum but I will do single orders.  I might have to charge a minor fee ($0.50 to $1.00 each) for drawing on orders less than 10 to cover drawing time.

Keta, I've upgraded my smaller Penns with Alan's SS sleeves already. I'm holding off on the larger reels, since I don't want to damage the gears. I'll be upgrading the dogs the next time I order a sleeve (114). I'm not an engineer by any stretch, but the dog/spring upgrade I was thinking about would be to drill the dog for the new, heavier spring like the 500 has. Don't know if that is possible or practical...

I prefer the flat spring but almost anything can be tried.

I would LOVE stainless gears for the 320GTi. A Jigmaster size spool with 113H gear sleeve and high speed. If we got stainless gears and convinced Cortez_Conversions to do a topless frame it could not be beat.

Penn Fathom, 25N, 30 and 40 series in a lower gear ratio than stock. I think you are already addressing this issue though. Just let me know if and when they become available. Thanks.

The Progear 545 is one of PG's most popular models.  Currently 3.25 and 4.0 gears are available for this reel but I would also like 5.0 SS gears. This reel could be used as a yo yo reel and for surface iron fishing with a higher gear set.  This is a very popular reel in Southern California.  Also, this same gear set would fit in a Penn 113H reel.
