Title: 6500 Anti rev. dog
Post by: fishnetter on February 14, 2013, 09:29:37 PM
Is it common for the older 6500 Abu Garcia reels to not have instant anti reverse spool lock up?  I have 2 out of 3 that will have about an inch of back travel before they lock up.  Does anyone have an idea what is happening with the lock up process?  Are there any newer dogs that will work on the older reels to prevent this or anything that will help?  Thanks in advance.

Yes, completely normal. That's how they work.

Yes there are some, but like you said, we're talking about an inch...
